How we work with you

1. Initial contact

At Carropat Construction we understand that your time is important, so once you have reached out to us, we will promptly be in touch for a quick call to introduce ourselves and book in a no-obligation site meeting. We will also send an email questionnaire for you to fill out. This questionnaire is designed to give us a better understanding of your vision for your dream home renovation or extension.

2. Site Meeting

The next step is a site meeting at your home. This meeting gives us an opportunity to delve deeper into specific details of your job, and this is your chance to share any ideas and concepts that you have with us. You are encouraged to bring along any plans, sketches, or designs that you might have. The purpose of this meeting is to gather as much information as we can so that we can take your vision into the design phase to get your ideas onto paper.

3. Initial Cost Estimate

Once the site meeting is complete, we will provide you with a preliminary cost estimate based on the current design. Having plans (even in draft) will allow us to provide an estimate that reflects the job size and scope. This will allow you to gain a better understanding of what the investment will be for your project. This step allows us to work together to tailor the design to suit your budget.

4. Design, Plans and Council Approvals

Already have plans and designs finalised; and council approval underway? Amazing! We can skip straight to the final quotation and contract stage.

If you need plans and support with the council approval process, we can help guide this. We will sit down with the designer to discuss your specific needs and create an initial concept plan. If you don’t have a particular designer in mind, we have a number of designers that we work with that we can put you in touch with.

At Carropat Construction we believe that it is important for the home owner, designer, and builder to work closely with one another for the duration of the design process. This ensures that the design process runs smoothly and any issues can be identified as early as possible.

At the end of this stage, we will have finalised plans and have lodged them for council approval. It is important to us that you get exactly what you want for the extension or renovation, so in this step you get a chance to make any changes or additions to the final plan. Once you have approved the final plan, they will be lodged to council for approval.

5. Fixed Price Quotation

With a finalised plan and council approvals underway, we will start on a fixed price quotation for your job. This will include a completed specifications list, schedule, and breakdown of costs. Once the quotation has been agreed to we can move to the next stage of signing the build contract and locking in a start date.

6. Sign Contract and Lock in Start Date

With the design finalised and quotation submitted, we will meet to go over the contract and agree to a date when work will commence. Once the contract is signed our team will begin preparations to ensure that the job runs smoothly once we begin.

7. Construction

Now the work can really begin. Our team will begin work on the chosen start date to make dream home a reality. We offer weekly meetings so that you are kept up to date with the progress of your job.

Issues can arise during any renovation or extension, but at Carropat Construction we strive to keep you informed of any complications as they arise. If you want to make any variations along the way, we will promptly provide an update on costs and timeline so that you aren’t hit with any unforeseen costs.

8. Handover

Time for handover. Now that the build has been complete it is time for you to enjoy your new home. Your house will be thoroughly cleaned, and we will complete a hand over checklist to ensure that you are happy with the final product. Even though the build has been complete, we will be in touch to see if there are any minor issues that you would like us to fix
